Since it’s inception, the Chicago Black Gay Men’s Caucus has been setting trends. It also has a rich history of leadership development with National Youth Pride Services, electing several of it’s young adults to chair youth committees over the years, as well as, co- sponsoring many socially forward events with NYPS back in the day.
That was then, this is now. 2017 looks to be another amazing chapter for this group.
Since 2005, The Caucus has been dedicated and focused on the health and well-being of black gay, bisexual and same gender loving men in Chicago. We have come a long way since black gay community organizers and officials within the Chicago Department of Public Health came together to address the overrepresentation of our community in the HIV epidemic.
Mission: To advance health equity among Black gay, bisexual and same gender loving men by developing community-centered leadership and innovative programs.
Strategic Priorities: Transformational Leadership, Cultural Competency Training, Advocacy, Health Marketing, and Enhanced Internal Capacity
Speaking of Chicago, the 2017 National Youth Pride Services Leadership Retreat is headed to the Windy City!
